London: Parts 1 & 2 (6.1+2)
Season 6 opens with style as the gang head to the UK for a special two-parter. Highlights include Ron’s trip to Scotland and Andy’s hilarious partnership with dopey Lord Covington (Chris Pratt’s Guardians of the Galaxy pal Peter Serafinowicz).
Ann And Chris (6.13)
We challenge any P&R fan to sit through this episode, which sees Ann and Chris leaving Pawnee, without welling up. Every possible dynamic gets at least a moment to shine and there’s a surprising and poignant final shot.
Galentine’s Day (6.17)
Three really strong sub-plots – Ann returning with her newborn baby, Ron as Andy’s surrogate dad and Ben standing up for Larry – make for a great episode. Not to be confused with the season 2 installment with the same title.
The Parks department holds a high school prom – and hilarity ensues. Best bits? The side-splitting sight of Orin and Champion dressed as April’s parents, Andy is crowned Prom King and, just to top it off, the long-awaited return of Greg Pikitis!
Moving Up: Parts 1 & 2 (6.21-22)
Though it’s not the funniest finale, this two-parter acts as a grand celebration of the show so far that can’t fail to leave you with a smile on your face, while singing “5000 Candles in the Wind.” Also, that shocking final scene is one of the ballsiest decisions the show has ever made.
