The Arrowverse network is adding a new superhero show Black Lightning. And here is our first look at him in costume…
The series will star Cress Williams as Jefferson Pierce AKA Black Lightning. In the comics, Black Lightning was the first DC hero to star in his own title. He was created by Tony Isabella and Trevor Von Eeden in 1977.
Here’s the synopsis for the show:
Jefferson Pierce made his choice: he hung up the suit and his secret identity years ago, but with one daughter hell-bent on justice and the other a star student being recruited by a local gang, he’ll be pulled back into the fight as the wanted vigilante and DC legend — Black Lightning.
Greg Berlanti (Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow) is exec producing with husband and wife team Salim Akil and Mara Brock Akil acting as showrunners.
