The women of Star Wars will be showcased in an upcoming animated online micro-series…
Star Wars: The Forces of Destiny will be comprised of several shorts of about 2-3 minutes each, to be released on the official Disney Youtube channel. Each will focus on a different female character of the franchise. Those confirmed to appear so far include Princess Leia, Rey, Ahsoka Tano, Jyn Erso, Sabine Wren and Maz Kanata, who will narrate the series. Movie stars Daisy Ridley, Felicity Jones and Lupita Nyong’o will reprise their roles, along with the voice actors of the Clone Wars and Rebels characters. It is currently unknown who will replace the beloved Carrie Fisher as Leia.

If you are interested (what am I saying? Of course, you are!), Disney will also be releasing a new batch of action figures – or “Adventure Figures” – to tie-in to the series. These will feature the female characters featured in the show, as well as their sidekicks. e.g. Artoo and Chewie.
