NEWS FLASH: Batwoman Is Coming To The Arrowverse Next Season

The Bat-mythos is finally coming to The CW’s Arrowverse as Kate Kane has been confirmed to appear later this year…

This year’s annual four-way Arrowverse crossover – that unites the casts of Supergirl, The Flash, Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow for one week only – will see Batwoman make her debut in the shared DC universe.

Oliver Queen himself, Arrow star Stephen Amell, made the announcement at The CW’s Upfront presentation. To illustrate the incoming crossover, a poster of Green Arrow, Supergirl and The Flash standing in front of a cityscape, with a Batwoman signal beaming in the sky, was on show behind him. See for yourself below:

This is massive news as her Arrowverse debut will mark the first time that Batwoman has ever been brought to live-action in any form. That’s a terrible crime when you consider the fact that the character has been around since 1956. That said, the revamped version of the heroine – introduced in 2006 – was when she really caught on with fans. The modern version of the character is a lesbian, often depicted in a relationship with Maggie Sawyer – who has starred in Supergirl.

This will be the first time a member of the Batman family has appeared in the Arrowverse. The Dark Knight, Gotham City and other aspects have been alluded to for years, however. Arrow season 6 even went so far as to namecheck Bruce Wayne, confirming that the Dark Knight is out there somewhere.
