Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn will return in a newly announced DCEU movie Gotham City Sirens…
Suicide Squad might not have been all that well received, but DC are happy enough with director David Ayer and Harley Quinn actress Margot Robbie to give them another shot. It has just been revealed that the pair are teaming up again to make spin-off film Gotham City Sirens.
Sirens will focus on an all-female villain team based in Batman’s backyard. In the comics, the team consisted of Harley, Catwoman and Poison Ivy. Ra’s Al Ghul’s daughter Talia and sorceress Zatanna were also allies of the team. This is a bit of speculation on our part, but the Sirens could come up against Gotham’s all-female hero team in the movie – the Birds of Prey, whose number includes Batgirl, Black Canary and Huntress.
This is presumably the final form of the touted Harley Quinn solo movie, that was announced a few months ago. Geneva Robertson-Dworet (Tomb Raider, Sherlock Holmes 3) is writing the screenplay. No release date has been announced yet, but the movie is apparently on the fast-track to production.
