In short, Yu-Gi-Oh‘s about a modern card game with links to Ancient Egypt has the ability to summon mystical forces. But why bother explaining it all when the show’s intro can do it better?
8. Fullmetal Alchemist
Brothers Edward and Alphonse use alchemy to bring their mother back to life – but it costs Edward his arm and leg and Alphonse his entire body. Now they are on a mission to become state alchemists and find the Philosopher’s Stone in order to find a way to restore what they have lost.
7. Digimon
Where Digimon (or digital monsters) and kids from Earth (aka DigiDestined) fight for the peace and safety of the Digital World in which the Digimon live. Now regardless of the similarities to another anime whose name escapes me (see later on) this series has enjoyed its own fair share of popularity securing its place on this list.
6. Bleach
One night, Ichigo Kurosaki’s life changes forever when he absorbs the power of a wounded soul reaper named Rukia. Now it’s up to him to perform her duties and keep corrupt spirits know as hallows at bay.
