5. Bart Sells His Soul (S7)

An unusually metaphysical episode as Bart regrets “selling” his soul to Milhouse. The best one for deepening Bart beyond his trademark badboy image, with some lovely stuff with Bart and Lisa, too.
4. Marge Vs the Monorail (S4)

The Simpsons at its most delightfully wacky and gag-filled. The simple story of the town’s new monorail is embroidered by arguably the highest hit rate of jokes of any episode ever.
3. You Only Move Twice (S8)

The Simpsons leave Springfield for new pastures in a truly sparkling episode. Finding Nemo‘s Al Brooks steals the show as Hank Scorpio – Homer’s new boss who just happens to be a Bond villain.
2. Treehouse of Horror V (S6)

‘The Shinning’ is the show’s greatest spoof ever – it’s just so spot-on with not a word wasted. Pair that with ‘Nightmare Cafeteria’ and ‘Time and Punishment’ and you’ve got the perfect Halloween special… and one of the finest Simpsons ever.
1. Homer’s Enemy (S8)

A true masterpiece that flips the show on its head – what would happen if an ordinary guy met Homer Simpson? He would hate him, that’s what! It’s hard to pick a single greatest episode of the show, but this one won out this time around. Ask me tomorrow, and I’d probably change my mind.
What’s your favourite Simpsons episode? Leave it in the comments!

I love this! Totally agree with all of them 😂
What do you think of the newer episodes?
My blog (blogs.tapped-out.co.uk) is dedicated to Simpsons and TSTO

Thanks! I still watch and enjoy it most of the time. Definitely not as good as its heyday, of course, but I’ll still find myself chuckling a few times per episode. How about you?
Great site! Just followed. 🙂

I agree that some HD/recent episodes aren’t as good but it is hard to stop watching a family you have grown to love. I still watch, get excited about and like (some) recent episodes.
Thanks for following the blog BTW. Because it is self hosted the WP reader doesn’t work like it does for most blogs but you can still comment etc by going on the browser

Exactly. I will always love the Simpsons family. Homer, to me, has got to be the greatest TV comedy character ever.
Gotcha, thanks for the heads-up!

Out of interest: Do you play TSTO? The Simpsons Tapped Out.
If so, how long have you been playing?
If not, you should! You build your own Springfield and their are constant events which release fun limited time items that can be seen in the show. Super fun!

I’m ashamed to say I don’t. But you’re right I really should!
Loved Simpsons Hit and Run back in the day though!
