7. Rage
Arrow – sorry, Smallville continues as Oliver takes a dangerous drug in order to match Clark’s invulnerability. Not bad, but more interesting is Martha and Lionel’s bits and Lana’s confession. 8/10
8. Static
A two-part episode split between Lex banished to another frequency and Clark fighting Guardians of the Galaxy’s Dave Bautista. Great – if soap opera-y – ending. 8.5/10
9. Subterranean
This parable about sympathetic Mexican immigrants is a timely rewatch in 2017, but the episode is too schmaltzy for its own good. Much better is the awesome Lex-centric ending.
7.5/10
10. Hydro
A poor freak-of-the-week – Tori Spelling’s hydro-journo – and the Lex/Lana/Clark triangle development is so-so. On the other hand, Lois and Clark’s first accidental kiss was hilarious.
8/10
11. Justice
The Justice League unites to take down Lex Luthor and his evil scheme.100% comic book thrills that packs a lot into only 40-odd minutes. It’s amazing how far Smallville has come.
9.5/10
12. Labyrinth
It’s a blatant rip-off of Buffy’s ‘Normal Again’, but this an intriguing, high-concept episode for Smallville that’s notable for introducing Martian Manhunter. 8.5/10
