Played by: Jonathan Pryce
Appearances: ‘The Curse of Fatal Death’
In Steven Moffat’s Red Nose Day Doctor Who spoof, the Master was played by Jonathan Pryce as a kind of parody of Roger Delgado and Anthony Ainley’s versions. He was exceedingly camp and useless at defeating the Doctor. However, he was later shown to be fond of his old foe and, eventually, appeared to embark on a romantic relationship with the Doctor when he regenerated into a woman.
The Android Master
Played by: Derek Jacobi
Appearances: ‘Scream of the Shalka’
In the non-canon animated serial ‘Scream of the Shalka’, the Master lost his physical form but was saved by the Doctor (played by Richard E. Grant), who managed to install his spirit in an android body. Unfortunately for him, the body could only function onboard the Doctor’s TARDIS, meaning he became a reluctant companion to his old enemy. Funnily enough, this version was played by Derek Jacobi, who later portrayed Professor Yana on TV.
