Ahead of tonight’s penultimate episode of Doctor Who – featuring both Michelle Gomez and John Simm’s versions of the Master – we take a look at the greatest quotes of the Doctor’s greatest nemesis…
“I am usually referred to as the Master.”
“Oh? Is that so?”
“Universally.”
‘Terror of the Autons’ (1971)
“You see, Doctor, you’re my intellectual equal. Almost. I have too few worthy opponents. When they’ve gone I always miss them.”
‘Terror of the Autons’ (1971)
“You do not understand hatred as I understand it. Only hate keeps me alive. Why else should I endure this pain?”
‘The Deadly Assasin’ (1976)
“Peoples of the Universe, please attend carefully. The message that follows is vital to the future of you all. The choice for you all is simple; a continued existence under my guidance or total annihilation.”
‘Logopolis’ (1981)
“A cosmos without the Doctor scarcely bears thinking about.”
‘The Five Doctors’ (1983)
Roger Delgado is my favorite Master, and that dynamic with Pertwee’s Doctor is amazing 🙂

Can’t argue with that. 🙂 Every Master since owes Delgado a huge debt.

You’re right about that. It sucks that I am unable to watch the series via legal means because I would love to see this season 10 finale for myself.
