3. Buffy Summers

In Buffy, Joss Whedon created a television icon and the best darn female superhero there is. Like all the best heroes, Buffy is torn between her responsibilities to do good and her own wishes. With various doomed vampire romances and a few deaths along the way, Buffy didn’t have it easy but she sure did save the world. A lot.
-1 Willow Rosenberg

We can’t put Buffy top, though, as a couple of characters have even stronger journeys over the course of the show. As Buffy’s nerdy best friend, Willow was immediately loveable but her eventual coming out and growing magical capabilities meant that Willow was always the most interesting of the Core Four.
-1. Spike

Alongside Willow, the other character who had the biggest growth over the show was William the Bloody AKA Spike. You couldn’t but help but love this vampire bad boy who went from villain to hero – first he was a reluctant Scooby but then he became a champion in his own right thanks to his love for Buffy. How to describe Spike in five words? Joint. Best. Buffy. Character… Bitch.

I love me some Faith. She is my 2nd favorite character after Spike.

Faith is amazing! Buffy and Willow only come before her because B is the star of the show and Willow probably grows the most as a character, except Spike.
Thanks for the comment. 🙂

This would be my top 3 as well. Without Spike there’s no point to Buffy. They needed this character to provide the sarcasm and the relatable outcast role. Willow throughout all seasons is the other o so important relatable character that shows change is not even possible, but good. Strive to always be yourself. And Buffy makes everything possible. She goes through every human emotion possible and always comes out on top. In one awesome word: Empowerment

Glad you agree with my picks! Yeah, I think that one word pretty much sums up the whole show.
Thanks for reading!

The first time I saw Buffy (back then in 2000’s) I really didn’t pay attention to the characters development… today I just have ended my binge watching Buffy time, and I really am stupefact about how great every single character is by his own right… Obiously there is someones greater than others, but still, you can see how everyone puts their effort to create an enyojable series (yes, even Andrew)
Now I have ended it again, and I can feel how Willow and Spike really grows; its a shame that they just put aside Faith, she is very interesting character too; btw, I have to say that Spike really get me, for moments even I felt in love of him ha ha ha ha
Great top!

Totally agree! Every character undergoes a massive development across the show. Yeah, Willow and Spike are the best because they begin as completely different people from where they end up. Haha you have to love Spike! More from Faith would have been great, too.
Thanks!
