13. Recruit
Clark’s on his way to a football scholarship at Metropolis U – but is it the right thing to do? Meanwhile, Chloe being in on the secret is getting interesting. The Lana plot? Not so much 8/10
14. Krypto
Smallville tackles one of the goofiest aspects of Superman mythology – Krypto the Superdog – in a fun way. The highlight, though, is Lois living with the Kents and being a pain in Clark’s side. 8/10
15. Sacred
The gang going to China to track down one of three Kryptonian stones should have been more thrilling than it was. On the plus side: the touching nod to Christopher Reeve’s passing. 8/10
16. Lucy
Lois’ overachieving little sister Lucy comes to stay in another solid if unspectacular episode. Love the glimpse behind Lois’ spiky facade and her growing friendship with Clark. 8/10
17. Onyx
Lex is split into two in a stupendous episode that gives us a hint at the “real” Lex Luthor. Michael Rosenbaum gives a tour-de-force performance in one of the show’s best. 9.5/10
18. Spirit
Smallville High’s Queen Bee possesses various characters in her bid to become Prom Queen. Exceedingly frothy, but it’s fun to see the cast acting like bratty airheads. 8/10
