Nick Fury
Appearances: Iron Man 1-2, The Avengers, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Agents of SHIELD, Captain Marvel (upcoming)
Nick Fury is more of a mentor to the Avengers than an actual hero himself but, hey, we couldn’t leave him out. He’s the reason the Earth has its mightiest heroes in the first place. Sadly, he hasn’t been seen for a while, though we highly suspect he’ll show in either Infinity War or Avengers 4.
Phil Coulson And The Agents of SHIELD
Appearances: Coulson – Iron Man 1-2, Thor, The Avengers, Agents of SHIELD, Captain Marvel (upcoming)
After becoming a fan favourite character in the movies before leading his own TV show, we think Phil Coulson has earned the label of hero. On Agents of SHIELD, he is surrounded by a first-rate team including Melinda May, Daisy “Quake” Johnson, Fitz and Simmons.
Hawkeye
Appearances: Thor, The Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War
Ah, Clint Barton – you might be the most shortchanged Avenger but we still love you. Jeremy Renner gives the archer a laid-back demeanor which means you can’t dislike the guy who is brave enough to fight gods, aliens and robot armies with a bow and arrow.
Luke Cage
Appearances: Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, The Defenders
Mike Colter’s man with unbreakable skin made a strong debut in Jessica Jones, but he was even better in his own solo show, likewise in The Defenders team-up event. Without a costume or superhero name, Luke Cage is Marvel’s most authentic street-level hero.
