Guardians of the Galaxy
Appearances: Guardians of the Galaxy/Vol. 2, Avengers: Infinity War
The surprise stars of the MCU, the Guardians are Marvel’s most unlikeliest heroes, but that’s what makes them so great. Back in 2014, we didn’t think a team including a sarcastic raccoon and a loveable tree person could work so well.
Captain America
Appearances: Captain America: The First Avenger/The Winter Soldier/Civil War, The Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Thor: The Dark World (cameo), Spider-Man: Homecoming (cameos), Avengers: Infinity War
Thanks to some canny storytelling and Chris Evan’s great performance, Marvel have managed to turn what could have been an unremarkable and old-fashioned good guy into the Avenger with the most high quality movie series and one of the most interesting character arcs.
Iron Man
Appearances: Iron Man 1-3, The Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: Civil War, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Avengers: Infinity War
As much as we love Cap, there’s no denying that Iron Man deserves the top spot. Robert Downey Jr just is Tony Stark, the arrogant genius who you can’t help but love. So pitch perfect is his interpretation of the character, he is both the father and the public face of the MCU. Marvel will have a hard time replacing him when he eventually bows out.
